| Krakow’s climate is typical of central Europe and is marked by four strongly defined seasons, with sunshine and rainfall evenly distributed throughout the year. In winter, temperatures often drop to below freezing, with perhaps as much as 60 days of snowfall, and as little as 2 hours of sunshine per day, which can be a shock for foreign visitors from milder climes, so be prepared! A humid, temperate spring leads to warm summers where temperatures in July average around 24 degrees and can hit up to 35 in August. But, the cold can catch up with you, at night it can get chilly, as low as 6 or 7 degrees. Perhaps the most spectacular time of year to visit Krakow and enjoy its exquisite architecture and youthful energy is the autumn, when the air is crisp, and the leaves of the trees turn many shades of red against a brilliant blue sky. |
